In July of 2011, my grandmother passed away. At her 90th Birthday Celebration, we recorded 2 hours of stories from her childhood up to some of her last days here on earth. My family has her voice to listen to and be comforted by.
So many people that I tell this story to wish they had a recording of a loved one that has passed on. But imagine what it’s like to have a recording of your loved one telling you what they loved about your family, their hopes for you, what life lessons were most important to them, what values they most wanted for your family or children, or even just saying a nickname that they always called you! Something to pass on to your children and grandchildren for generations to come!
So we realized we’d have to build this into our planning process and not make it just another thing you’ll get done someday.
